DESCRIPTION:REGISTER TO ATTEND\nJoin SME for August’s plant tour at NWI Aerostructures of Nashville. NWI Nashville specializes in long and large aluminum machining\, forming\, processing\, and assembly up to 30 meters (100 ft) in length and the production of complex structural parts and assemblies to aerospace and adjacent markets including the world’s business jets\, military\, and commercial platforms. \nNWI manufactures some of the longest skins\, stringers\, and spars in the industry\, and uses state-of-the-art machining technology to produce large\, monolithic\, complex components. \nCommon parts include: \nWing stingers\nWing skins\nWing spars\nEmpennage components\nWing assemblies\nFuselage\nWing to body assemblies\nEmpennage assemblies\nFloor structure assemblies\nFloor beam assemblies \nTOUR INFORMATION: \nBefore Arrival\nSite access must be arranged through your NWI point of contact\, prior to your visit.\nIf you are a non-US person\, then you must coordinate with your NWI point of contact approximately two weeks prior to visit\, if possible. \nPlease note our Facility Restrictions.\nValid government-issued photo ID is required upon arrival. Acceptable forms of ID include driver license\, U.S. passport\, military ID\, permanent resident card\, and certificate of naturalization. \nDriving Directions\nThe best address to type into Google Maps is 3283 McGavock Pike\, Nashville\, TN 37214. Using an iPhone map app may lead you to a different location\, so using Google Maps will be most helpful. The street name has recently been changed from McGavock Pike to Aerospace Way\, so while the street name says Aerospace Way\, Google Maps has not yet updated their maps to reflect the street name change.\nOnce you turn onto Aerospace Way/McGavock Pike\, you will take the very first right into the parking lot.\nStay to the right and drive along the fence line (following signs to the Main Offices) until you have reached the lowest and final parking lot that has a flag pole\, turnstiles\, and gate. \nUpon Arrival\nCall your host once you have parked to let them know you have arrived. When you get to the gate and turnstiles\, please use the phone to dial\n615-361-2063 to call security. They will buzz you in through the gate.\nYour host will meet you in the lobby to give you a visitor’s badge. \nFacility Restrictions \n\nVisitors are not allowed use of cell phones with a camera feature\, cameras or any other recording devices\, without the express written permission of the General Manager or Operations Director.\nNo open-toed or high-heeled shoes in production areas.\nSafety glasses are required in all production areas.\nHearing protection is required in identified production areas.\nVisitors must remain in marked walkways in production areas.\nThe smoking of tobacco is restricted to designated areas. State law prohibits smoking in all places of employment. We do not allow smoking within 10 feet from all doorways\, windows that open and air intake systems. The use of electronic cigarettes or “e cigarettes” is also prohibited in all areas where the smoking of tobacco is prohibited.\n\n
