This morning, I had the pleasure of presenting a $500 check to the students in the TCHS Mechatronics class on behalf of SME Chapter 43. I shared a brief overview of the Nashville Chapter of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers and explained how we support students who are developing essential technical skills across Tennessee and the surrounding region.

Attached are a few photos from the presentation, including shots of their additive manufacturing lab, which features two MAKERBOT 3D printers and a STRATASYS printer.

In the group photo:
Front row – Instructor Chris Woodard, SME43 representative William Butrum, student Destiny Brown (holding a 3D-printed cell phone holder she designed and printed), and Instructor Wendell Knight.
Back row – Mechatronics students.

The students were enthusiastic and eager to begin ordering materials for their additive manufacturing projects using the donated funds.
